Natural Dyed Bandanas

Sometimes I get a wild hair to make really random things, like natural dyed bandanas…and of course, a leather bolo tie to accompany it.

I have done some home dying before with turmeric powder and beets, but wanted to try a few new things this time around so I headed to the garden, the fire pit, the backyard, and my spice rack. Yup, you did read that correctly, I said fire pit!

Here are some really pretty outcomes with these bandanas, and it was crazy to see the color that came from the most unusual places: Black Tea, Cabbage, Avocado Pits, Oak Galls, Ash, and Turmeric. There was some trial and error - as always with my experiments - but they turned out pretty and slightly imperfect in the end.
