Mother's Day!
It’s crazy to think that 6 years ago, my Mother’s Day post on Instagram was the announcement I was pregnant, and today, I have a 5 year old! How has time gone SO fast?
I don’t know about you but I have to say this role of Mom is one tough gig. I never imagined I would feel like I had so little control (and I am a control freak) would find myself yelling repeatedly to clean up, help out, get dressed, brush your teeth, stop when someone says stop…and the list goes on, and on, and on. I love my son more than anything, but I am not above saying that he drives me nuts. I have a super low tolerance for whining, baby talk, and him saying he “can’t” do something. Wow, it’s exhausting and yet I am in awe of him.
Having just finished Hunt, Gather, Parent (which is one of the best parenting book I have ever read) I am taking the advise and trying to nag less, give him more responsibility, and stop trying to control everything he says or does. I swear they should teach parenting classes before you are allowed to have a baby. I wish I would have started some of these practices earlier, but hey…better late than never!
To all the mamas out there who are juggling life with kids on zoom school, working from home, staying home, have one kiddo or 5, and everyone in between, HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
