Getting Spooky!

When it comes to decorations, I am not really one to jump on board. I love decorating our Christmas Tree, but aside from that, I have never put up seasonal decorations...until now.

When we popped over to Michael’s a couple weeks ago, Waylon asked me if we could decorate for Halloween. Since Halloween is going to look a lot different this year, was completely on board to make it special.

We picked up some spider webs and a pack of sparkly little spiders, and made the rest from our supplies at home.

Our pine tree in the backyard is always dropping pine cones and I happen to see the cutest pinecone spiders on Pinterest. We went and collected a few small pinecones and transformed them into the perfect creepy crawler to add to our decorations.

Here is how to make Pinecone Spiders.

Supplies:

  • Pinecones

  • Pipe Cleaners

  • Google Eyes

Take your pipe cleaners and wrap them around the pinecone and bend the legs. I did a twist tie to keep it secure. Once the legs are on, take a little glue and attach their eyes.

When the glue is dried, tie twine or string around the center of the pinecone and hang it anywhere you want!

Next we took out our craft paper and cut out bats…and added some googly eyes!

Supplies:

  • Black Paper

  • Googly Eyes

  • Glue

  • Scissors

Fold your paper in half and cut out the outline of the bat. Make them as big or little as you want. Once they are cut, unfold them and glue on the eyes. When the glue is dry, tape or putty them to your windows or anywhere that you want to show a spooky display!

Happy Halloween!
